An Amish Adventure in Ethridge Tennessee 

   The Amish communities just north of Lawrenceburg in Ethridge Tennessee play a major role in bringing visitors to Lawrence county. We want to bring you the best information you need to plan your Amish adventure to Amish country. Since the Amish are meek and humble, and don't use modern conveniences like electricity or the internet. We want to be your guide to their world and we feel like we balance the line between being respectful to the Amish way of life and visitors wanting to see them.  

Over 300 Old Order Amish families live just north of Lawrenceburg in Ethridge Tennessee. Visiting the Amish is a great way to see the Amish way of life from the Amish themselves. None of the adventures we advertise are scripted or played by actors, these families are authentic old order Amish.

The James D. Vaughan Museum 

Lawrenceburg Tennessee is the birthplace of southern gospel music. Mr James D. Vaughan was a music teacher who wrote gospel song books. He put together quartets and sent them out to sing with his new hymnals.  He had a book publishing company, a music school, and a radio station on the Lawrenceburg downtown square. 

Official Trail of Tears Trail

The Indian Removal act, moved tribes of Native Americans to Oklahoma. The Bell Route was one of the trails out of East Tennessee. Lawrence county has sections of the bell route that were never paved over. David Crockett Park has an official trail you can walk on the original trail walked by Native Americans leaving Appalachia.  

The Farm Community

  In 1971 a caravan of 80 buses and several car loads of people arrived in Summertown Tennessee in northern Lawrence county to live in a peaceful community with respect of earth and nonviolence amongst humanity. Today The Farm Community is a great way to see how green living and sustainability can lead the way to a better future.

01 The Amish of Ethridge Tennessee is from the oldest Amish orders in the country!

You might be asking why seeing an old order of Amish is important. The old order Amish person has more in common with the early settlers then with the modern society. The Amish of Ethridge have no electricity or modern conveniences. Our Amish do everything by hand and horse. Family is very important and farm work is taken very seriously. The Amish of Ethridge are truly a step back in time and our tours can put you right up front with the Amish way of life in an educational, and life transforming way. We hope to bring your family closer together with our Amish tours!

02 Lawrence county has many outdoor activities all in one place for family fun without much traveling!

The only traffic jam we encounter is when you drive up on an Amish buggy on a country road. All of our best places are just a short drive away with nothing being more than 30min drive. We design our itineraries with the destination and time in mind so you're not waiting long to get to the next place to have fun, or avoid the crowd.
